(March 21, 2013)
I wrote a three-part story for a special issue of The Daily Aztec that targeted prospective students. The full-page story outlined the history of the former student union and construction of the new building. I recommended the addition of a timeline, which was incorporated during the design process. My piece was retweeted and also shared via Facebook.

San Diego State professor Seth Mallios worked with SDSU library staff to host an event for a mural salvaged from the former student union Although the piece was saved from demolition, the event was meant to raise money to restore and place the mural in the school’s library. After publication, a party interested in donating to the effort contacted The Daily Aztec.

After the forum, I interviewed several students to get their feedback and researched information about the various candidates. My deadline story ran on the front page the next day.
